easyJet's founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has picked a fresh fight with the airline, calling for an extraordinary general meeting to oust a non-executive director.

Sir Stelios decided on Monday that his frustrations over an aircraft order placed with Airbus in January should be taken out on Professor Rigas Doganis, an aviation consultant and former boss of Olympic Airways. He has been on easyJet's board since 2005.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, who with his family controls about 37 per cent of easyJet's shares, yesterday requested a vote to remove Rigas Doganis from the airline's board of directors.
